His Majesty’s Theatre (HMT) was designed by the eminent theatre architect Frank Matcham and opened in 1906. HMT attracts a wide and diverse range of top quality theatre productions from musicals to top class drama and dance.
The theatre seats around 1470 people and was reopened in September 2005 following a major £8million re-development . The redevelopment successfully added a modern aspect to an historic Edwardian building and the new facilities have brought the theatre to life both day and night offering 21st century theatre goers a truly memorable experience.

Parking
We are pleased to announce that we can offer car parking at the Bon Accord Centre, Harriet Street car park for only £2 when purchasing tickets for shows at The Lemon Tree, His Majesty’s Theatre and the Music Hall.
You can buy your car parking ticket online (www.boxofficeaberdeen.com), by calling Aberdeen Box Office (01224 641122), or in person when buying tickets for shows. If you have left your tickets for collection, car parking tickets must be collected from the venue box office before the performance starts. The car parking ticket is valid for parking between 5.30pm and 11pm.
When parking, take a ticket at the entry barrier to gain access to the car park (once parked discard this ticket as it will not be valid for exit). When exiting the car park, insert your pre-paid ticket into the slot at the exit barrier. For disabled access please contact 07793 696793 when leaving the venue, and a member of staff will arrange for entry and take you to the car park.
Bus & Rail Routes
Most buses come along Union Street. Aberdeen railway station is just a few minutes walk from the venue.
Parking for customers with limited mobility
There are 3 disabled parking spaces on Union Terrace adjacent to Pavarotti’s restaurant and 1 outside Aberdeen Art Gallery on Schoolhill. There is also a drop-off point in front of the theatre.
